Numeracy and Reading are only grades that can be compared from 2007 and 2008 because of the change from WALNA to NAPLAN testing:

Value Added

Year 3

Some students had difficulties in Numeracy and most performed well in Reading.

Year 5

Numeracy and Reading displayed a positive result in both areas.

Year 7

Students performed fairly consistently in both areas.

Students who did not achieve the benchmark in Numeracy and Reading are continuing to receive education support time to scaffold them whilst targeting the areas of difficulty.

It should be noted in the Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Writing areas Our Lady of Lourdes have achieved very good results.

To continue improvement in writing and spelling, the school is working on whole school plans to make sure teaching is individualised, data driven and directly helping students at risk.

A future goal is also to refine what we are already doing to continue to extend the very able students in all grades.
